Synopsis

## Chainsaw Man *Chainsaw Man* by Tatsuki Fujimoto is one of the defining manga of the 2020s — raw, subversive, and structurally inventive in ways that defy the conventions of its genre. The manga is divided into two parts. Part 1 follows Denji, a broke devil hunter who merges with his chainsaw devil pet to survive, and is recruited by the governmental Public Safety organization. Part 2 shifts focus to Asa Mitaka, a high school girl who becomes the host of the War Devil, and navigates school life, apocalypse anxiety, and an unwanted partnership with a god of destruction. Fujimoto's storytelling is deliberately unconventional: major characters die without ceremony, plot threads get cut short, and the series constantly wrong-foots readers who expect standard shonen beats. Part 2's school setting inverts all of Part 1's energy to create something entirely different. **The manga concluded on March 24, 2026** with Chapter 232, titled "Thank You, Chainsaw Man" — completing one of the most inventive and genre-defying manga runs of the 2020s across 24 volumes and 232 chapters.
