Synopsis
## March Comes in Like a Lion
*March Comes in Like a Lion* (*3-gatsu no Lion*) is SHAFT's most emotionally mature work — a profound, visually inventive character study about depression, isolation, and the slow process of allowing others into your life.
Rei Kiriyama is a 17-year-old professional shogi player — one of the youngest ever to turn pro. Despite his exceptional talent, Rei is profoundly alone: he lives by himself in a small apartment, has severed ties with his adoptive family, and struggles with deep depression. His world begins to change when he develops a bond with the three Kawamoto sisters — Akari, Hinata, and Momo — who offer warmth and belonging he has never known. The series alternates between the competitive world of professional shogi and intimate domestic moments with breathtaking tonal control.
