Synopsis
## Akame ga Kill!
*Akame ga Kill!* is a dark fantasy action series known for its unapologetically bleak tone and willingness to kill off named characters — a quality that keeps viewers constantly on edge. Animated by White Fox (*Steins;Gate*, *Re:Zero*), it adapts Takahiro and Tetsuya Tashiro's manga with an original ending.
Tatsumi is a naive young fighter from a poor village who travels to the capital seeking fortune to help his starving hometown. Instead, he discovers a city rotting from within — a corrupt prime minister who puppets the young emperor, a brutal secret police force, and aristocrats who torture the poor for sport. After a narrow escape from a noble family's dungeon, Tatsumi is rescued by Night Raid, an assassin group secretly working for the Revolutionary Army. Armed with a trump card weapon called a Teigu — powerful artifacts of supernatural origin — Night Raid strikes at the empire's corruption from the shadows. Tatsumi joins their ranks, confronting the reality that fighting for justice means committing murders. The series runs 24 episodes and concludes with an anime-original ending that diverges from the manga. Fully available on Crunchyroll.
