Synopsis
## Classroom of the Elite
**Classroom of the Elite** (ようこそ実力至上主義の教室へ, *Yōkoso Jitsuryoku Shijō Shugi no Kyōshitsu e*, abbreviated *YouZitsu*) is a 2017 anime television series produced by Lerche, adapted from Syougo Kinugasa's light novel series. It is a school drama with a distinctly psychological edge, built around one of anime's most opaque and calculating protagonists — a character who poses as ordinary while operating several moves ahead of everyone around him.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School is a prestigious institution with a seemingly simple mission: prepare its students for society by giving them complete freedom and adequate resources. But the school's real system is more brutal: students are divided into classes ranked A through D, with Class D receiving almost nothing. Class placement is determined by merit, and advancement requires navigating a merciless zero-sum competition with other classes. Into this environment arrives Kiyotaka Ayanokoji — seemingly unremarkable, quiet, and average. But Ayanokoji is concealing a calculated intelligence that borders on frightening, the product of a deeply unusual upbringing. As class politics and schemes unfold around him, he chooses when to intervene and when to remain invisible, manipulating outcomes from the shadows while helping his classmates — particularly the talented but alienated Suzune Horikita — find their own way.
